അവതരണത്തിലും പ്രമേയത്തിലും  ഭാഷയിലെ കീഴ്വഴക്കങ്ങൾ ലംഘിച്ചു കൊണ്ട് മലയാളിയുടെ സാംസ്കാരിക ലോകത്ത് കലാപം സൃഷ്ടിച്ച എഴുത്തുകാരിയാണ് മാധവിക്കുട്ടി. നിത്യപ്രണയത്തിന്റെ വ്രെതനിഷ്ഠമായ സമരാഗ്നിയിൽ ജ്വലിച്ചു നില്ക്കുന്ന സ്ത്രീ സ്വത്വത്തിന്റെ വൈവിധ്യമാർന്ന ഭാവങ്ങളെ ആവിഷ്കരിക്കുന്ന കഥകളാണ് നഷ്ടപ്പെട്ട നീലാംബരിയിലും എന്റെ പ്രിയപ്പെട്ട കഥകളിലും ഉള്ളത്. മാധവിക്കുട്ടിയുടെ കഥകളിലെ സ്ത്രീ കഥാപാത്രങ്ങളെക്കുറിച്ച് ഡോ. ഷംഷാദ് ഹുസൈണ്‍ നടത്തിയ പഠനത്തിൽ നിന്ന് – ഡോ. ഷംഷാദ് ഹുസൈന്‍ – ‘എന്റെ വലിയ മുലകളെ പ്രശംസിക്കാന്‍ എന്നും ഏതെങ്കിലും വിഡ്ഢി ഉണ്ടായിരുന്നു.’ ഈയൊരു വാക്യം മതി, മാധവിക്കുട്ടിയുടെ നീഷേധങ്ങളെ അടയാളപ്പെടുത്താന്‍. വിശദീകരണങ്ങളില്ലാതെ തന്നെ ഈ വാക്യം പല തരത്തില്‍ നമ്മുടെ ബോധ്യങ്ങളെ തകര്‍ക്കുന്നുണ്ട്. സ്വന്തം ശരീരത്തെക്കുറിച്ച് തുറന്നെഴുതുന്നു എന്നത് തന്നെ ഒന്നാമത്തെ കാര്യം. സ്വന്തം ശരീരത്തെ സംബന്ധിച്ച് കൂട്ടുകാരോട് സ്വകാര്യമായി പങ്കു വെക്കുന്നതു പോലും നാണക്കേടായി കണ്ടിരുന്ന കാലത്താണ് എത്ര ലഘുവായി സുരയ്യ ഇത് എഴുത്തില്‍ കൊണ്ടു വന്നു എന്നു തിരിച്ചറിഞ്ഞത്. ശരീരത്തെ അതി...
